Meet the fifth owner, Richard Mammoser! Rick is a brother to Gerry and Ron Mammoser, and also grew up working on the family dairy and Vegetable farm. He was always ready to give a helping hand where needed and learn from his father.
Rick became a partner in 1979, and has been the go to problem solver throughout the years. As one of the owners, he does a little bit of everything around the farm, but his main job title is managing the crop and waste management side of the dairy farm.
Rick has been very active in various organizations in order to stay involved at the local, state, and national agricultural industry. He has been involved with Genex Cooperative, Dairy Herd Index, and volunteered for the Erie County Cornell Cooperative Extension by being a 4-H leader.
Rick was also involved in a peer group made up of representatives of eighteen different farms from across the nation. The peer group meets to discuss issues that they experienced and successful outcomes on their farms. This peer groups proved to be very helpful and created great relationships with other industry professionals. This group is a great educational tool for new ideas, and how to continue to improve the farm. Rick, like all of the partners, has a passion for agriculture and a very hard-work ethic. Rick is constantly seeking to learn more and better the farm.
Rick loves all dairy products, but if he has to choose one he would choose yogurt! He especially enjoys the flips that you can add the delicious treats right into the yogurt.
In Rick's free time he enjoys being outside and going on an adventure. In the winter months he enjoys riding his snowmobile along the trails with friends and family. In summer months he enjoys riding his motorcycle and finding new places to travel.
Rick says, "Find a job you love and have a passion for, and you`ll never work a day in your life. Then you have to find a way to make money at it ha ha!"
