What Are Cheese Curds?
Eden Valley Creamery’s Cheese Curds have been a popular WNY snack since opening a few years ago. But, what exactly is a cheese curd?
Made famous in Wisconsin, USA, cheese curds are fresh cheddar snack cheese. Cheese curds are not aged and can be enjoyed right after production. Cheese curds are firm, and the freshest cheese curds have a ‘squeaky’ feel to them. (Pro tip: If your cheese curds have lost their squeak, you can put them in the microwave for 10 seconds to revive them!)
Cheese curds can be served plain with just salt, or spiced with other flavors. Eden Valley Creamery currently produces Original, Garlic, Horseradish, Tomato Basil and Buffalo style cheese curds. We are always looking for your opinion on new flavors, leave your suggestions in the comments below!
There are endless possibilities on how to enjoy EVC Cheese curds. They are tasty on their own, or you can add them to many recipes. The two most popular ways to enjoy cheese curds is rolling them in batter and deep frying them, or you can put them over French Fries with gravy overtop and you have poutine! If you’re looking for a quick way to incorporate them in your meals, you can put EVC Cheese Curds over salads, cheese burgers, or soups!
Eden Valley Creamery’s cheese curds are USDA Certified Organic and all milk for the curds comes straight from our family owned farm. Every Thursday is cheese curd production day and we have a large window in our gift shop where you can look into the production facility and see the curds being made! The best time to stop in and see the most action is from 12-4.
